Typically we have one to two trips a year. Spring and Fall. The Spring trip this year will be on April 6th-12th 2019.
What is the cost of the Trip?
The cost of the entire trip is $1900 which includes everything from airfare, Praying Pelican Missions trip fees, food, transportation, lodging, and ministry expenses.
Are there fundraising opportunities/scholarships available for the trip?
Yes, we are all about fundraising and truly trusting the Lord when it comes to him financially providing for this trip. We usually try to have a bake sale fundraiser scheduled sometime before we leave on the trip, and any proceeds from that will be split into partial scholarships for those in need of them. If you feel a huge tug to go on the trip but finances may prevent you from going, please email me directly and we can talk about some possibilities with an individual payment plan for you. I would hate for finances to be the reason you do not go on something you feel called to!
Where in Costa Rica are we going?
Do I need to apply to join the missions team?
In order to help us form the team we do ask that you submit a quick application. Once that is turned in, the trip leader will contact you to set up a coffee meeting to discuss the trip but also to get to know you a bit more!
Do I need experience in missions to be able to go?
NO! Come as you are. We take any and all experiences. There is no experience needed to share the love of Jesus with others.
Do I need a passport to go?
YES! We will be leaving the country and definitely need you to have a passport that is not expired or expires after you leave or else you cannot come back into the country.
What type(s) of mission work will we be doing?
We typically do many things! Some hands-on projects, VBS-like activities with children, playing sports with them, women's ministry, as well as a feeding program. Praying Pelican Missions helps us have a tentative itinerary on the trip so our schedule is very flexible so that we can allow the Holy Spirit to move!
Where do we stay?
It changes on every trip but typically a small hotel with two to three people in a room.
