Typically we have one to two trips a year. Spring and Fall. The upcoming Spring trip will be in January 2020.
What is the cost of the Trip?
The cost of the entire trip is $1900 which includes everything from airfare, Praying Pelican Missions trip fees, food, transportation, lodging, and ministry expenses.
Where in Costa Rica are we going?
Liberia/Sardinal. We have formed a relationship with Iglesia Biblica El Manantial in Sardinal and continue to go back to that community every trip.
Do I need to apply to join the missions team?
In order to help us form the team we do ask that you submit a quick application. Once that is turned in, the trip leader will contact you to set up a coffee meeting to discuss the trip but also to get to know you a bit more!
Do I need experience in missions to be able to go?
NO! Come as you are. We take any and all experiences. There is no experience needed to share the love of Jesus with others.
Do I need a passport to go?
YES! We will be leaving the country and definitely need you to have a passport that is not expired or expires after you leave or else you cannot come back into the country. If you do not have a passport at the time of your application, that is ok! We can help point you in the right direction on where to initiate that process.
What type of mission work will we be doing?
We typically do many things! We have been privileged to do some hands-on projects, VBS-like activities with children, playing sports with them, women's and men’s ministry, as well as a feeding program. Praying Pelican Missions helps us have a tentative itinerary on the trip so our schedule is very flexible so that we can allow the Holy Spirit to move!
Where do we stay?
It changes on every trip but typically a small hotel with two to three people in a room.
What can I expect on the trip?
The beautiful thing about missions is that it is different every time! You can expect growth in your spiritual walk and closeness with the Lord, challenges that are physical, emotional, and spiritual. You can expect to be a little uncomfortable due to the cultural differences and language barrier, BUT you can also expect a life-changing experience filled with the Holy Spirit! Come expectant that God will be moving in some way!
