2-MAN SCRAMBLE FORMAT
You and your partner tee off, the best tee shot of the 2 is selected and both play their second shots from that spot. The best second shot is determined, and then both will play your third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. This procedure continues until the ball is holed out and for all 9 holes (Note: All balls are lift clean and place). At the end of each hole, one member records the Gross score. There is only ONE Gross score per hole.
GROUP PLAY (foursome)
Teams will be made up 2-players. Each team of 2 will be teamed up with a different team of 2 each week. You and your teammate will play a 2-man scramble and the team you are teamed up with will do the same. After each hole you will add both of your team scores to come up with your group score for the hole. Your group will be competing against the other groups each week.
You and your partner will be playing a 2-man scramble to come up with the best score you can as a team. You will be competing against all the other 2-man teams in the league. Every week your team score will be recorded and added to your scores from previous weeks. Standings will be based off of strokes. The team with the least amount of strokes at the end of the 8-week season will be crowned the champion!
To keep the playing field as even as possible we use handicaps to determine where your team will tee off from. Since most golfers in our league will not have a set handicap, we have put together a formula to determine handicaps.
Handicap Scoring System
((9-hole average * 2) - 72) * 75% = handicap (rounded)
Ex: ((44 average * 2) - 72) * 75% = 12 handicap
Which Tee Box Do I Use?
Teams of 2 men or 2 women: The lowest handicap of your team will determine where you tee off from.
Teams of 1 man/1 women: The man’s handicap will determine where he tees off from. The woman’s handicap will determine where she tees off from. You may be teeing off from different tee boxes.
Men’s Tee Boxes
0-8 Handicap - Black
9-19 Handicap - Blue
20-40 Handicap - White (Fox Hollow) / Silver (Homestead)
Women’s Tee Boxes
0-15 Handicap - Silver
16-40 Handicap - Gold
There will be 2 Closest To the Pin contests each week with prizes for the winners!
MANDATORY PACE OF PLAY RULES
Check in at least 10 minutes early to the first tee box to ensure we are all teeing off at the correct times. If you are running late to the course you will need to meet up with your group at the spot they are at... we cannot hold groups on the tee for late arrivals.
Double par maximum score. Please pickup your ball once you have hit a double par maximum score. On a par 3 this is a score of 6, par 4 is a score of 8, and par 5 is a score of 10.
Lateral hazards. If any ball enters a hazard, please make your drop from where you assume the ball ended up... not from where the ball entered the hazard. Make your drop up to 2 club lengths no closer to the hole and take a one-shot penalty.
One-minute max to look for lost balls. If both you and your partner have lost your ball in deep rough or trees, please only spend a maximum of one minute looking for it. If you cannot find it, please make your drop laterally and a penalty stroke.
Ready Golf! Each golfer within a group is allowed to take his/her swing when each member of the group is ready to play. If you reach your ball and are ready to hit, while other members of your group are not yet prepared, then go ahead and hit - even if you are not away.
Gimme putts allowed. If your putt is less than the length from your putter head to the beginning point of your grip (usually 2-2.5 feet) then you can pick up your ball and count that putt good automatically. Take your stroke and move to the next hole.
