How Do I Become A Sports Ministry Leader?
|"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." Ephesians 4:11-12
Thank you for your interest in joining the leadership of Red Rocks Sports Ministry. Leaders are vital to fulfilling our mission to help people stay active both physically and spiritually! Any Red Rocks Church member wishing to 1.) help lead an existing sports program or 2.) begin a new program must submit his/her proposal to the church, undergo an approval process, and meet all requirements for ministry leadership before proceeding. This is to ensure that you are not only equipped for the leadership experience ahead of you, but also to support you once the ministry has begun and to encourage the success of your ministry goals. Please read through the entire outline and become familiar with all steps, requirements, and responsibilities of Red Rocks Sports leadership before embarking on this approval process. Please also be aware that approval for new ministries is subject to the discretion of pastoral and director-level leadership.
Leaders must adhere to our sports ministry vision:
Opportunities to serve in leadership:
Applicant will submit a Leadership Application. We will approve/deny the proposal using the following criteria:
If approved, we will setup a face-to-face interview with the applicant for further discussion, revision and answer any questions outstanding. If the applicant has not completed a gifts assesment at this time, the applicant will be asked to do so.
If approved, the ministry leader will be required to stay connected to, receive coaching/support from, and remain accountable to Red Rocks Sports staff in the form of monthly ministry reports, and attending quarterly leadership meetings. The applicant will sign a ministry contract detailing the above and will receive a ministry leadership handbook to outline the next steps for promoting the ministry.
